All our treats are made with human grade ingredients and baked in small batches by hand. We use no chemicals or preservatives. In fact after each batch we dehydrate the treats for added freshness and crunchiness.

Maureen: Keira is a 7-year old “Labradoodle” who loves to eat, and a smile that won’t stop giving. She makes me smile constantly. At a checkup, Keira was told she was overweight and put on medicine to control her urge to “forage”. Oh No!
I didn’t like the fact that she needed medication to control her instinct and especially didn’t like the fact that treats were out of her diet! What? No Treats?
Sweet Pea Kitchen was born. Our biscuits are delicious! ALL NATURAL, CHEMICAL and PRESERVATIVE FREE, BAKED BY HAND, in small batches, and DEHYDRATED for freshness. All our ingredients are local USA products and HUMAN GRADE food. Only the best for our dogs and yours!
Devin: For as long as I can remember I have been a huge animal lover, I have always had dogs in my life. My family has always told me that I have a special connection with animals, especially dogs.
These are a few of the reasons why I became a Certified Veterinary Technician, in 2009. One thing that I realized while working at animal clinics is that there are not many treats that are gluten free, wheat free, chemical and preservative free. That is why I have teamed up with my mother to make these yummy, human grade treats. I know Aidan my 5 year-old “Labradoodle” is crazy for these treats, and your dogs will be too!!
Gary Lee Lake Memorial Fund
This fund was established by gifts from family and friends in memory of Gary who died suddenly in 1973. The income provides scholarship assistance to deserving students majoring in pre-veterinary science in the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources at the University of Maryland. Since 1973 this scholarship program has helped students realize their dream to pursue a passion with animals that Gary was not able to pursue.
Gary had a profound connection with a wide variety of animals and a special way of communicating with them. He had many animals in his short life including snakes and monkeys, but he particularly loved Rex, his German Shepard. Rex died shortly after Gary died, consumed by grief over the loss of his best friend.
