Since 2004 happytails has created eco-friendly spa, grooming and wellness products for the modern dog. Both partners came from the human cosmetic and supplement industries and saw a need for pet products that were manufactured to the same high standards as human products utilizing the same cutting edge ingredients. That's why happytails uses only the finest (better than human quality) ingredients to solve the toughest problems that dogs face, like itchy skin, tear stains and bad breath.

In 2011 happytails merged with their competitors and friends Cain and Able to form Heart United Pet, the leader in problem solution grooming and wellness products for dogs. Both brands are sold and recommended by veterinarians around the world for one simple reason-they work, naturally!

Carbon Offset

We are all responsible for climate change and we all must be part of the solution. Carbonfund.org makes it simple for anyone, or any organization, to reduce and offset their carbon emissions.  We simply calculate our carbon emissions (after reducing them as much as we can) and then calculate the impact we are having on the environment. We then make a contribution to Carbonfund.org that is commensurate with that level of emission.

So besides reducing the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, carbon offsets drive down the cost of clean energy, hastening the transformation to a clean energy future.

Canine Companions for Independence

We are very proud to donate a portion of our profits to Canine Companions for Independence. CCI is a non-profit organization that enhances the lives of people with disabilities by providing highly trained assistance dogs. Headquartered in Santa Rosa, CA, CCI is the country's largest non-profit provider of assistance dogs. CCI is recognized worldwide for the excellence of its dogs, and the quality and longevity of the matches it makes between dogs and people. The result is a life full of increased independence and loving companionship.

Recycled Bottles

PCR is a blend of reclaimed natural HDPE (primarily from milk and water containers) and virgin resin. The recycled material is cleaned, ground and recompounded into uniform pellets along with prime virgin material.

It goes without saying that by recycling we are reducing the amount of waste in landfills and being more respectful of our natural resources however there are other consequences; Recycling creates 6 times as many jobs as landfilling. Because most plastic is recycled locally we're reducing our dependance on imported oil in a variety of ways; the oil from which the bottle is made, the oil used to ship the oil to this country the energy used to convert the oil to plastic and the oil used to ship the raw material to our part of the country to be made into bottles.

Currently only about 3.5% of all plastic generated is recycled compared to 34% of paper, we're doing our part to improve that number.

Locally Sourced

All of our products and components are made in the USA. Most of them are made right here in Southern California to minimize transportation-related impact. Our products are manufactured only at FDA approved labs that adhere to strict quality standards and are regularly inspected.

Our herbs are ethically and organically grown by a select group of independent farmers whose concerns for the environment meet our ethical standards and quality control

Three ways to use spray

1. As an all over conditioner right after you've washed your dog; Spray it all over (avoiding the face and eyes of course) you'll feel the difference as you brush and you'll see the difference once you dry.
2. After bathing as a spot relaxer for particularly stubborn mattes and tangles; Just spray on the problem areas to make the brush out easier for you and less stressful for your dog.
3. As a spot detangler on a completely dry dog; No need to wash, rinse and repeat, simply spray Ruff to Smooth on the stubborn tangle for tug-free brushing

Roman Chamomile Essential Oil Promotes restful sleep, healing to the skin
Aloe Vera extract Brings immediate cooling relief to fleabites and helps to reduce itching. Aloe contains minerals, proteins and enzymes that help soften the coat and soothe the skin
Ordenone Water-based compound that captures and eliminates foul odors
Panthenol (Vitamin B5) Improves the moisture retention capacity of coat. Also has an anti-inflammatory and anti-itching effect. Makes coat easier to brush and improves its condition and sheen
Glycerin An humectant (adds moisture to skin)
Polysorbate 20 Derived from Coconut oil and used to dissolve essential oils into water, without the use of alcohol.
Silicone Emulsion Helps with detangling and silkiness.
